Buhweju is not just a name on a map \u2014 it\u2019s a beating heart. And now, <strong>Nkore Drum and CICD-Uganda have decided to beat in unison<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On June 4th, 2025, two forces came together with one goal: to <strong>amplify the voices of the silent majority<\/strong> \u2014 the farmers, mothers, youth groups, and elders of Western Uganda \u2014 starting right where it matters: <strong>Buhweju<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>CICD-Uganda<\/strong> has long been in the trenches. Their mission is to build bridges to prosperity by promoting skills, self-reliance, eco-tourism, and community healing. They teach. They farm. They listen. They act.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Nkore Drum?<\/strong> We tell stories. But not just any stories \u2014 the kind that shift mindsets and start conversations. Now, we&#8217;re not just documenting; we&#8217;re walking with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What this means on the ground:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Community-driven newsletters created by local storytellers in Buhweju.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Documentaries that show change, not just need.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Skills training for youth in storytelling, digital media, and civic engagement.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Real stories from real people \u2014 preserved, published, and passed on.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Julius, one of CICD\u2019s field coordinators, said it best:<br>\u201cThe drum was how we called each other. Now you\u2019ve brought it back\u2014with internet.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This partnership isn\u2019t charity. It\u2019s a collaboration. CICD will continue driving change with its programs on agribusiness, climate action, and youth empowerment. Nkore Drum will walk beside them\u2014documenting the journey, offering platforms, and sparking dialogue across the hills and homesteads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019re not here to tell people\u2019s stories for them. We\u2019re here to hold the microphone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So when you see a podcast from Nyakaziba, a photo essay from a youth club in Kashesha, or a school girl\u2019s voice on our homepage\u2014that\u2019s the MoU in action. That\u2019s the drum and the roots working together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Western Uganda has stories. We\u2019re here to help them
